Mug cake is the most simple cake that takes incredibly little time to make. This chocolate mug cake recipe is adapted from ruled.me’s chocolate cake in a mug. We added protein powder and make a few adjustments.
The texture of the cake is amazing with fine crumbs that melt in your mouth. We are not kidding when we said this is the best chocolate mug cake we have made so far.

- 2 tbs cocoa powder
- 2 tbs melted butter

- 2 tbs coconut cream
- 1/2 ts orange zest
- 1/2 ts baking powder
- Sweetener of choice to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl or a mug, mix melted butter and cocoa powder till there is no lumps.
- Meanwhile, prepare your dry ingredients by mixing together coconut, almond flour, baking powder and orange zest.
- Put your dry ingredients in the wet ingredients and bet till smooth.
- Microwave on high for 60 secs. The cake should be just cooked and moist. If you leave it too long the cake will be dry.
- Serve with whipped cream or ice cream. It's heavenly.
Notes
We didn't use any sweetener in our recipe because the protein powder is enough to add sweetness to the cake. But if you prefer it to be sweeter, please add your sweetener accordingly.
